What will effect the cost of my site? |
The first thing to recognise is that that the cost of a website
is not proportionate to the number of pages. In terms of design, one
page can take as long to make as ten pages. Once you have that first
page designed, the rest simply use the same layout
The second major factor is what you want each page to do. If you want
a page of text, that you supply, with one or two images things can move
along fairly quickly once the initial template has been created. However,
specify a contact form, photo gallery or shop and the process slows down
considerably.
The last significant factor is changing your mind! Changing a few words
of text is normally no big deal but if you suddenly decide to change
the layout of the page or the menu bars things costs can increase
significantly. We are happy to advise beforehand but whatever you do,
make sure you have a clear idea what you want before asking us to start,

Are websites are bespoke and created to your specifications.
However, most websites will fit into one of these packages:
Single Page Website
If you are not quite ready to have a website yet but you do want
to have your email address or location on the internet then this
is the solution for you. Also, as we are designing your layout and
graphic design now, when you are ready to expand your site you
will find the costs a lot cheaper as much of the hard work has
already been done.
Four to six pages of static pages and a simple contact form where
the material is supplied by you.
This is a good option for a lot of small businesses. We would
complete the layout and design of your pages whilst you would
supply all the text and images to go on the site.
As above but with extra pages and a more complex online enquiry
form
Content Managed System (CMS)
As in option three but with a CMS allowing you to make your
own website updates and change your website content on a daily
basis if necessary.
Extras:
Basic Ecommerce abilities
Selling a small number of items or services using a service
such as Paypal.
Full Ecommerce Website with Admin Area
This would include a user friendly website administration
area that will allow you to input your own stock, change
prices, etc. and also allow you to accept credit card payments.
Website Updates and Modification
We can offer three solutions to updating your site.
Firstly, you can specify a CMS system at the outset and therefore
maintain you own site.
Secondly, we charge you on a per change basis. This option is
ideal for those who will not need changes often. Our minimum
charge is very reasonable and covers most text and minor image
changes. If the changes are very small we often don’t actually
charge at all or roll a number of very minor changes together
and make just one charge every few months. More extensive
changes will be quoted for in advance.
Our last solution is a yearly contract, a good option if you are
expecting a lot of changes. |
