Client Side Project Management

Plans

Getting all the local authority permissions and contracting tradesmen, builders, decorators and craftsmen to carry out work on your business or residential property can be a daunting task.

However, managing the work is just as crucial to success, if not more so. Even the smallest project can be an extraordinarily complex business.

Making sure your development runs smoothly, on time and to budget requires many different skills and also a sound knowledge of what's involved in the whole process of working on site.

Most experts will agree, it is unwise to take on this task yourself if you also have a full-time job. And this is where we can help!

Whether it is your business, investment property or your own home we can be on hand from day one. Furthermore, we already have a list of reliable contractors that we know will complete the job well so you don't need to worry about appearing on the next episode of a TV documentary about cowboy contractors.

Why contract a Project Manager?

Can you afford to spend enough time on site?
If you are committed to a full-time job, then the answer is "no". Project managing is a full time job, you will not be able to work elsewhere for a large chunk of the day and simultaneously fit in working on-site, overseeing labour and ordering materials into 24 hours.

Why should I pay someone else to manage my work? The workload associated with project managing means that costs are generally around 10 to 20% of the value of the project.

To save this money, you could try to run the project yourselves but this will only work if things run smoothly. Inexperience can result in hiccups, a lack of planning early on or even partway through a development can cause overruns in budget and schedule all of which can have costly consequences.

And don't forget, you may be saving the project managers fee but how much are you losing from your own salary?
